A prayer banner flies in the breeze in the Elementary Learning Landscape garden. Fourth and fifth grade students made these banners to create good vibrations in their garden, in the school grounds and throughout the Hawaiian islands. In many traditions around the world, banners similar to these are used to offer prayers of peace, gratitude and recognition to local spirits or aspirations of enlightenment. This banner represents a word that creates positive and uplifted energy for the students. Jeselle Corpuz
Brianna Tancinco has fun modeling in the studio for the ULSMedia students. The students were practicing their off-camera flash techniques. This image was captured with two Canon speed lights placed behind the subject (both with blue gels). Alyssa Redoble/Ka’eo Keawe
Markayisha M., Class of 2015, sports a silver snowflake on her face while hanging out with friends in the courtyard by the MPB. Despite it being 78 degrees and mostly sunny outside, the snowflake stickers were the students’ way of getting into the holiday spirit. Sienna Morales
